Reading your traffic — separate signal from noise
Pageviews alone are misleading. Bots, crawlers and short bounces inflate visits without ever taking action. Use the filters below in your analytics tool to see real human conversions.
- Exclude high-bot countries: if a country shows 90%+ bounce and ~1.0 pages/visit (e.g. CN, RU spikes), filter it out before judging conversion rate.
- Use the
real_engagementevent: already tracked. Fires only when a visitor scrolls 50%+ or stays 30s+. Compare it to total pageviews to see your true human rate. - Track
cta_clickevents: every audit/contact CTA now sends one. Filter bycta_locationto see which page sections actually convert. - Watch
is_bot=true: CTA events are tagged when the user-agent looks automated — exclude these in GA4 Explore for clean numbers.
Tip: in GA4, build an Explore report with dimensions page_path + cta_id, metric Event count, filter is_bot = false.
Tip: phrase queries the way a buyer would ask, not as keywords.
